random - 1 lb of ground beef without a scale?

I picked up a large package of ground beef from costco a while ago and portioned it out and froze it. now I have a recipe that calls for 1 pound.

how do I figure out a pound of ground beef without a scale? what does one pound look like?

i was actually really tempted to go to the steampunk dimension travellers visit the museum thing the other week with a camera and a rough storyline, just to see if the participants would be interested in posing for a comic.

i really need to stop coming up with random ideas. i really need to finish some of the stuff i've got on my plate right now.
