Brukulele: adj - too broke to buy new ukes

yesterday I dropped off my mom's old Kamaka at a shop that specializes in ukes to get an estimate for repairs. last time I saw the old thing, I was a different uke player. now, I see it with different eyes, and I think it might be so far gone that it might cost more to fix it than what it is worth.

and then I saw a banjolele on the wall for about what I had budgeted for repairs....

*starts to shake* *starts to sweat*

my friend says: I can see where this is going. did you get the banjolele?

no. I was strong.

friend: mazel tov

well, to say I was strong is a bit missleading. I didn't have the money on me.
