I picked up a ~huge~ bunch of bananas at costco for less than $2. I was thinking I would make banana bread out of them, but they are not ripening fast enough for me.

I did a google search for banana recipes, and there are so many different ones for some many areas, I was a little overwhelmed. I'm hoping you can help me narrow it down.

does anyone have recipe suggestions for bananas? in general, I do prefer warm bananas to cold. so for me, sautéed bananas are good, banana pudding is bad.

this is your chance to show off your really creative cook side!

I like bananas foster, but I think it is better when they are overripe.

I like making banana fry pies.

Buy or make some biscuit dough. Roll it out into rounds.

Fill each round with sliced bananas, brown sugar, and maybe a little honey or cinnamon. (You can fry the bananas first, or just put them in plain).

Fold the biscuit dough over to make a half moon shape with the bananas inside.

Fry in ridiculous amounts of butter, until both sides are golden.

Very tasty. A recipe from my Southern grandmother.

Bananas in pancakes.

Banana, peanut butter and mayo sandwiches on Wonder Bread, if you are in an Elvis kind of mood. Or split the banana, spread on pnut butter, put the banana pieces back together and eat em as a snack. Makes me feel like a kid.

Banana foster

For every serving,
1 T butter
1 T brown sugar
1 oz banana liquer
1 oz rum
nutmeg
a banana
whipped cream or vanilla ice cream
this is best if you make four or so servings at a time.

Cut the banana lengthways in half, like you are making a banana split. It should be ripe enough to be sweet, but still firm enough to stay together through this process. Melt butter in a skillet, then stir in sugar. add alcohol and mix. Let this boil and bubble a bit in the skillet and then light it. That will give you a caramel flavor and kill some of the alcohol. You can put the flame out by putting a lid on it. Be careful not to be sloppy with the liquid before you light it, or things cold get ugly, especially if you are tasting the rum while you do this. Anyway, put the banana strips in to the bubbly goodness, flip after a minute and then put them into a bowl with the liquid and the whipped cream or ice cream.

chop the bananas and place in a jar (fill the jar (pickle jar or something like that)) cover with white rum and let it sit for 3 weeks. Strain with a paper coffee filter....banana rum. yum!
