cool! when he originally published Stardust in the 3 part mini I took 1 and 2 (3 had not yet been released) up to a Baltimore comic con and he signed them there. he was tickled because folks were not yet ranting about that piece. it was sweet.

I love him. he wouldn't remember me, but I have met him twice now. both times were before he was the super star he is now.

and, ya, I am jealous. ;-) it would be a bit of a haul for me this weekend. have fun! and give him my love.

Actually, that's the weekend after PDF. I was going to be running the Utilikilts booth there, but it now two of my students will be testing for their black belts that weekend, so that's out.

what would it take to run the booth? I'm just now toying with the idea of picking up some side work while there......(*checking vendors to see who I know)

To run a booth, you need to be a Utilikilts crew leader, which you become by
1) Owning at least one Utilikilt
2) Working a certain number of hours as a helper (a salesperson in a booth), I don't remember how many, and being consistently rated a "rock star"
3) Be willing to except pleated cloth instead of folding paper instead of money.

I think that third one might be a problem if you're looking to pick up some cash while you're there. :-)

I was going to vend at it, thinking it would be similar to Fairie Worlds entry fee. No dice. I nearly choked when I saw it to be honest.

It's also the same weekend as several major Ren Faires, which we also have our booth in AND it's my birthday weekend, so it makes it mad hard.

I think it's a good idea, but sucky, sucky timing. They should try winter because there is *nothing* in winter. (and yup, I know alot of people who've made that suggestion :) )

really? bummer about the fee. the ticket admission to the event seems reasonable to me though.

Md, PA and KRF are all going on at the same time. I know folks who are spread thin as far as faire vending goes too.

I am toying w/ the idea of going up fri night, staying w/ faire buddies, hitting the con on sat, then the PA faire on sunday. are you vending at PA at all?
