mabjustmabas mentioned in the DCist, the smithsonian is being quite tight w/ it's collection of apparently public domain images. a non-profit organization, public.resource.org, has taken 6,288 images from SmithsonianImages.SI.Edu, and posted it on their flickr acct.
now, the data that appears to be overwhelmingly in the public domain, but there is apparently a huge stink going on.
so I am posting this for my graphics friends, as well as other folks who might be interested (manko, I snagged you a zepplin ;-)......get 'em while you can!
