Happy meowrning, cat people! Another week is coming to a close, and we don't know about you guys, but we feel a need unlike any other to start this week on the right paw. Seriously, we feel like we deserve it, like we've done enough this week to earn it. We've been productive, we've been responsible, and now, we need to do something good for our mental health. It's finally Furiday, fam, and we're feline purrfectly fine! Furidays are always ameowzing days - they are our last day in the office, and they are also the day we get to share some of this week's most wholesome awwdoption stories with you. We love spreading all sorts of feline joy and cheer here at the I Can Has Cheezburger offices, and there is nothing that makes us happier than seeing cute cats get adopted and find their furrever homes. 

You'll find a senior cat that got adopted at 16 after 6 years in the shelter, itty bitty kitties exploring their new palaces while causing chaos,  and everything in between below. Let these success stories fill your hearts with hope that one day we might live in a world where every single cat has a home and is loved as it should be. If you haven't heard of the cat distribution system yet, then you really aren't getting enough cute cat content on your feed. Sure, maybe you're a through-and-through dog person and haven't ever considered yourself a cat person anyway. Still, the internet is the place for cat content, cats truly thrive on here, so not seeing anything that mentions that cat distribution system is alarming to us…

This woman uses her TikTok to post her running progress. She likes to run and do running stuff… I don't run so I'm not going to even try to describe what she's doing, but she's definitely running and posting about it. It looks like she's doing a great job too! However, one day, while on a run, she heard a noise, a cute lil squeak that she thought might be a baby raccoon. However, it was not. It was a kitten, and her was actively choosing her to be his mom. 

Cool cats in sunglasses? Paws down, one of the best things the internet has ever gifted us. There's just something hissterically adorable about a feline rocking a tiny pair of shades like they own the catwalk. Whether they're lounging poolside, striking a pose on the couch, or just giving their humans the ultimate side-eye, cats in sunglasses bring major cattitude.

You know that classic "don't talk to me before my coffee" look? These kitties mastered it long before humans ever did with nothing but a pair of sunnies and a perfectly unimpressed expression. They're not just fashionable, they're purrfessionals at exuding cool. One glance and you can almost hear them say, "Stay pawsitive, but don't cramp my vibe."

Sunglasses are also the purrfect disguise for plotting world domination, judging hoomans in peace, or simply napping undisturbed. Whether they're channeling summer vibes or undercover spy energy, these stylish fluffballs are ready to claw their way into the spotlight one sunny nap at a time. Sploot alert! When a cat flops down like a fuzzy pancake with their little back legs kicked out like they're about to launch into a jazz split — that, my friend, is peak sploot.

Why do they do it? Who knows. Who cares. All that matters is there's suddenly a long, leggy loaf sprawled across the kitchen floor like they pay rent and own the place. 

One minute they're zooming at 100 miles per hour, the next they're fully melted into the ground like a scoop of tabby sherbet. It's the ultimate drama queen move. "Oh, me? I'm just exhausted from knocking your water glass off the table for the third time. Let me just… collapse gracefully."

Some cats go for the full sploot, legs behind like furry baguettes. Others give us a lazy half-sploot, one drumstick tucked in, the other out like they forgot what they were doing halfway through. Either way, 10/10. Would admire again.

Look we get it, this week has felt like three already, and with the weekend now glimmering off in the distance, it can be hard to keep your cool and concentration on what is left to do in this work week. Which can be a big problem if you end up slacking off so much that you get fired before the weekend.

And because no one needs to start their weekend in a pit of despair, we figured we would lend a hand with this collection of calming cat memes for when you are too excited about the weekend. It's a tale as old as time, a song as old as rhyme - family yearns for a cat, the Cat Distribution System hears their cries, and then it delivers them a cat purrfectly suited for them. The CDS's methods are wide and varied. Sometimes the cat sneaks into your bag without you noticing, sometimes the cat just follows you home, and on occasion, the CDS has been known to employ doggos to deliver said kittens into your home and heart. 

This family's dog started barking outside at what seemed to be a tiny furball in the driveway. The dad went out to see what was going on, and realized that the tiny floof in the driveway was actually a tiny kitten! As if someone had heard their wishes (his wife and son were just talking about how they wanted a cat - what a coincidence!), the CDS sent this kitten straight to their doorstep. Now, her name is 'Mew' and she's loved by all family members, both two and four-legged!

Moving in together is a huge test to a relationship. Moving in together when there are pets involved somehow makes the whole thing even more difficult. You don't know which sides of your partner you're going to see when you are with them 24/7, and unfortunately, we have seen people break up once they moved in with each other and each other's pets. We've seen a man break up with his girlfriend of 9 years because she cuddles her cat at night. We've seen a woman break up with her boyfriend because he didn't get along with her cat. We've even seen a girlfriend be jealous of her boyfriend's affection toward his cat and him break up with her over that. 

It always feels unexpected. And it always hurts. And it hurt this time as well. Because in a two-year relationship, where things seemed to be going well, stable, this couple made a complete 180 after moving in together.

Cats and music. Two things that make life instantly better, and when you put them together? Pawsitively iconic. Whether it's a fluffy tabby sprawled on a record player like it's a VIP lounge, or a dramatic meow breaking the silence like a true opera diva, cats know how to enjoy a good tune.

If you are forced to rehome your cat, that is your time to say goodbye. There are no "take-backsies" after giving your fluffy feline up to another purrson that loves them.

Rehoming a cat, and introducing them to a new household, is a daunting task. Cats, despite all of their stereotypes, are sensitive creatures and take a lot of time to adjust to new surroundings. It took one of our rescues three full months before she felt comfortable sleeping on the couch, or in her bed. The first couple of weeks, she hid under the bed. You have to give them their space to come to you.

So imagine adopting a friend's rehomed cat, taking the time to introduce it to your own cat, and then falling in love with your new fuzzy feline. Then, five months later, the original owner comes back and demands their cat back! No thanks, this cat is ours now. Don't let the door hit you on the way out!
